Martial arts are a unique part of the Chinese cultural heritage with time-honored history. They symbolize the Chinese culture and spirit from one aspect. Martial arts have been developed for self-defense and health-keeping throughout human history. Nowadays, more and more people are practicing martial arts because of the benefits.
Martial arts training can improve the physical and mental fitness. Through martial arts training, the players‘ muscle works to form a healthy well-functioned body. And there are moves of punching and kicking which can strengthen the arms, shoulders and legs. Through martial arts training, the practitioners also can improve their mental fitness, which is as important as physical fitness. The state of peace is required in the training. People with this mentality usually have the optimistic personality, which play a vital role in one’s life and career. In addition, in martial arts training, one has to endure the hardship due to the restrict regime of the martial arts, which can shape the spirit of enduring the hardship.
In the martial arts practice, sometimes, the players have to retreat one step to be well-controlled and get advantageous position. This is accordance with one of Chinese famous saying which goes like this: Tolerance makes space. This kind of mentality is good for the solidarity of all people and helpful for the establishment of harmonious society.
Chinese martial arts put emphasis on the relationship between the body and the mind. In fighting, it is very important to achieve “changing according to different opponents”, and “getting opportunities through defending”. These training principles are good for the players’ flexibility, which is necessary in daily life and career. They can change their ways or principles to deal with different situations.
The martial arts practices break all prejudices with regard to winning and losing and to successes and failures, so the players can take a calm attitude to the result. In fighting, the practitioner of the martial arts plays calmly as in a game, with a free and initiative attitude, which is needed in all the life. With this kind of attitude, people will not to be conceited by success or discouraged by failure. These people are more likely to succeed.
In training, the players have to care about the moves and force , but more important, they should take a great care about their own temperament and mind , with a martial arts spirit transcending mere technique.

amazing work, i would think it’s a photo!
fantastic!
The net will only teach you to mimic moves. I suggest that you wait and when you can earn your own money start at a good school. Peerhaps when you show your parents that you are committed they will help with the cost of training. I understand your situation. I wanted to start when i was around 5 or 6 years old. My parents thought it was silly. When I turned 13 I began to mow lawns for money. I began my training then (1967), and never stopped. I still train and teach.
Best of Luck!
It all depends on where you go. At a YMCA you can expect it to be about $20 a month and at a privately owned dojo you can pay anything up to about $100 a month (or more).
A fair price would be about $35 – $45 a month (or less).
Check with your local dojos and pick the school that is the best for you, learning wise and budget wise.
There are plenty. I saw in the paper not long ago that two female twin rookies were each 5th degree. They had just graduated the academy. Good stuff.
AMAZING!! love it!
its like u took a picture@@
No, No, and … NO! As Bruce Lee said, can you learn to swim without water? Martial arts is more than just theory, it is reality. To learn is to live. Get out there are live, it is the only way!
With all the sincerity of my response, training via online, videos, or books without proper instruction and guidance from a qualified martial arts instructor are rarely a path one chose if they want to succeed and progressed as a serious and dedicated martial artist.
Self-training using video, internet and books cannot turn you into a good or an effective martial arts practitioner. Many can argue that Bruce Lee did it, but how many had forgotten that Bruce Lee had a solid martial arts background before he ventured on to create Jeet Kune Do.
Another detrimental result by training online , videos, or books is that this method teaching medium cannot correct or give you advices either you're doing things right or even wrong. Training martial arts without proper instructions and supervision can also cause minor or even serious injury.
Learning martial online, videos, or books can be best described having a online, videos, or books romance. You don't quite get the real thing !
You might think that you may have discovered the ultimate and cheaper way of training in the martial arts, but when reality strikes, the facade and sloppiness of your "self-training" will show. The worst that can happen also is having a false sense of security.
A majority of self-taught, pseudo blackbelts, MMA poseurs and other fraudulent wanna-be martial arts "practitioners" are one of the main reasons why the general public looks down on the martial arts and its practitioners. Many of the long time legitimate practitioners of the martial arts regardless of styles finds this awfully frustrating and horrendous , when we spent half of our life trying to live up to the highest standard and virtues of our beloved art.
For long time and experienced practitioners of the martial arts , video training or other forms of training such as DVD's and the internet are just another "tool" in our "toolbox"
I do not think that's a good idea not only the coloured belt system is a part of many martial arts history but its an effective system to have. After all the black belts all way have that feeling of authority, control and skill, and i think that's need when dealing with a class and new students. Besides it's a great tool for the teachers for when it comes to certain tasks like paring students up for sparing and minimises confusion.
wow, amazing. Deep is my favorite actor too.

wat up cuz,
lemme start by sayin these ppl' make me wanna blast explitives on stereo. one of the first things yu learn bout matial arts, there is no such thing as can't only won't. look at a few vids to be inspir'd & some instructional to learn propa technique. get some books on history & techniques of ya chosen art. keep focus & stoke the fire in ya heart. yu will grow & eventually yu will be on ya own ta make ya own decisions. i went through the same as yu. when i finally got to an official dojo there was much praise comin' in my direction from the minute i walk'd through the door. i traveled to south africa, only on my third belt & my sensei had no problem lettin' me fight black belts. i did not win but my competitors were shoked and impressed. on the bus ride back my sensei brought tears to my eyes for the praise i was given forme performance. remember, the journey of a thousand miles begin with the first step.
peace peace
stay strong
stay focus
keep on keepin' on

AMAZINGGG
you, sir, are freakishly talented. congratulations.
Amazing painting, and love your song also.
First things first
1. Find the best schools in your area the best teachers and dont worry about prices make a list from the highest quality schools to the lowest quality start from the highest.
2. Consult the highest teacher (remember if you want the highest training always learn from the source) tell them your situation offer to trade services maybe clean their school or do errands for them in exchange for teaching you tell them youll do anything they ask of you to learn. be humble
3. If they refuse find the top students of that school catch them on their way out and plead that they teach you tell them your situation if someone did that to me id teach them also im sure they hunger for the practice
4. try at the next school
5. Remember some schools offer free trials of their classes take advantage of these trials because you may discover though one school has a reputation of being good it may not be as good as another school you try out test every school in your area when you find the school and style you know you want to learn at then make them understand how sincere you are to learning their teachings
amazing, how is that possible!? !?
there are a lot of training videos on DVD that are available for all martial arts. books and magazines are also helpful. however, nothing is better than a qualified instructor. you may feel you are matching the moves you see on a DVD, but there are small nuances that make all the difference. pick an art, buy a video, practice, practice, practice, then find a seminar in the same style you can go to. these are usually 1-3 day events of concentrated training. bring a notebook to record what you learned. the new issue of black belt magazine (June 2006) has a big article on seminars and how to get the most out of them. good luck.
